Qualifications
Our qualifications are designed to ensure every driver is prepared for success. We value experience, responsibility, and a strong work ethic, while also supporting drivers as they grow in their careers.
Must be 21 years of age or older and have held a valid U.S. driver’s license for at least the previous 12 months.
Should be eligible to obtain a U.S. Passport, a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card, and a Hazmat endorsement if required.
Must have a documented work history along with reliable professional references.
Need to maintain a satisfactory driving record that meets company standards.
Must be able to fulfill the minimum medical requirements established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
Applicants must provide at least one valid document confirming their identity or legal status.
Acceptable documents include a U.S. Passport, a state-issued certified copy of a birth certificate, or official INS documentation.
The submitted paperwork must clearly verify U.S. citizenship or confirm that the applicant has established and currently holds permanent residency in the United States.
Providing a “yes” response to questions about a criminal record does not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment.
Each applicant’s criminal history will be reviewed and considered individually.
The evaluation will be based on the nature of the job applied for and the relevance of the record to the position’s responsibilities.
Our company follows the medical regulations and standards established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to ensure that all truck drivers operate vehicles as safely as possible.
Every new driver is required to complete a comprehensive physical examination that meets or exceeds DOT medical standards before beginning work.
By law, applicants must fully disclose any medical treatments, medications, and health conditions to the doctor performing the DOT physical examination.
Some general medical guidelines include:
Blood Pressure:
Should be 140/90 or lower to meet the standard requirements.
Vision: Drivers must have 20/40 vision or better in each eye, with corrective lenses if necessary.Hearing: Must be able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 feet.
Diabetes: Blood sugar levels should be properly controlled with an A1c level of 10 or below. Drivers using insulin will need to provide Form MCSA-5870, available on the FMCSA website.Heart Conditions: Individuals with heart-related issues may need clearance from a cardiologist and possibly recent stress test or echocardiogram results.
Please note that this is not a complete list of all medical conditions, medications, or treatments that could affect qualification.
Applicants are encouraged to consult their primary care physician about any concerns before attending orientation.
Prior to attending orientation at Prime Inc., some applicants may have questions about sleep apnea screening.
To support driver safety, Prime Inc. partners with Cardinal Sleep, providing on-site testing, treatment options, and necessary equipment for sleep apnea evaluation and management.

Valid Class A CDL
Holders must have a current Class A CDL.
Qualified to operate commercial vehicles safely
